Bhumi Pednekar made her Bollywood debut with ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ alongside Ayushmann Khurrana and left a good impression on all. But then she disappeared from the big screen for a good time. This year she has bounced back with films like ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ and ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’. Much to her delight, ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ with Akshay Kumar has managed to fare well at the box office. It has made it to Rs 100 crore club and has become one of the highest grossers of this year. With this, we also learnt that apparently, the success has gone into the actress’ head.
But, in her latest interview, Bhumi has rubbished all these rumours. Talking to Mid-Day, Bhumi states “I don’t know where these rumours are coming from. It’s a comment on my upbringing, so, that is disturbing. But, I need to take it in my stride and move ahead. Those who know me don’t agree with the things that have been written.”
Further saying, “I know how the industry functions and am at the receiving end [after achieving success]. But, I am new to the industry, and I don’t know how to deal with it.” Okay then!
Talking about her ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’, it has received a low opening at the box office, but we are expecting the film to pick up as it is Eid the following day. The story is about a couple who are going to get married soon, but the man realises that he suffers from erectile dysfunction. What happens next, and how they overcome their ‘problem’, forms the rest of the story. (Also Read: Shubh Mangal Saavdhan movie review: Sweet but hardly profound)
