India started the second phase of Covid-19 vaccination on March 1. This phase includes senior citizens, above 60 years, and people above 45 years with co-morbidities. PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, Minister of Law and Justice Ravi Shankar Prasad, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, among others were administered the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. Also, celebs like Kamal Haasan, Satish Shah and Saif Ali Khan took their first dose of the vaccine. The latest to take the Covid-19 vaccine shot is actress-politician Hema Malini.
The 72-year-old actress took to her Twitter handle to share pictures of her taking the vaccination at Cooper Hospital in Mumbai. She tweeted, “I have taken the Covid vaccine along with the public at Cooper Hospital.” She was in a black polka dot top, a pair of black pants and a black mask.

As per a report in Live Mint, on March 5, 10.34 lakh vaccines were administered. India has crossed the 1.90 crore Covid-19 vaccination mark on the 49th-day since the largest vaccination drive started in the country.
The first Covid-19 vaccination drive started on January 16. The vaccination of the frontline workers started on February 2. The next phase started on March 1 for those who are over 60 years of age and for people aged 45 suffering from certain medical conditions.
