It was 5th of March when actor Irrfan Khan took to his twitter handle and shared a sad news with one and all that he is suffering from a 'rare disease'. In his social media statement, he also added that after exact ten days the star will address to all about what he is diagnosed with.

And today, Irrfan disclosed that he is suffering from a tumour which is termed as 'Neuroendocrine Tumour'. While the disease may sound a bit confusing to many, here's everything you need to know about the disease the actor is diagnosed with and is soon going to travel abroad for treatment.

What is Neuroendocrine Tumour?

For all those unaware, Neuroendocrine Tumour is commonly termed as NETs which leads to a formation of abnormal tissue growth in the hormone which then produces nervous cells. While they most commonly occur in the intestine, they can be found in the pancreas, lung and the rest of the body as well. Also, the symptoms for neuroendocrine tumour include flushing, diarrhoea, asthma or wheezing, congestive heart failure (CHF), abdominal cramping, peripheral edema and heart palpitations.

Types of Neuroendocrine Tumour?

There can be many types of NET depending on which part of a person's organ is affected. Some kind of the same tumours include the Pheochromocytoma, Merkel cell cancer, Neuroendocrine carcinoma and Paraganglioma. Lastly, all we can hope is that the actor recovers from the mentioned disease soon.
