Here’s when the trailer of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar’s ‘2.0’ will be launched

Few months ago, the makers of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘2.0’ had launched the posters of the film with a grand event in Mumbai. The movie was earlier supposed to release during Diwali this year. However, it has been postponed to January 2018. Well, everyone is eagerly waiting for the trailer of the film. So, mark the date guys as the trailer of the film will be out on December 12 .i.e. on Rajinikanth’s birthday.

An insider said, “The trailer will be launched amid huge fanfare on Rajinikanth’s birthday (December 12). Rajini is worshipped down South and his films are celebrated like festivals. That’s why director Shankar wants to give all Thalaiva’s fans a gift.”

Talking about the film getting delayed, the source said, “The film was meant to release during Diwali this year, but they had to push it to next year because of the extensive VFX. But now, the team will unveil the first teaser promo and reveal the look of ‘2.0’ on Diwali. Akshay and Rajini want this to be a gift to their fans, who are disappointed by the film’s delay.” (Also Read: Unbelievable! Rajinikanth’s ‘2.0’ is said to be one of those films who can break the record of ‘Baahubali 2’ at the box office. So, the makers of ‘2.0’ were trying to cash on it. A source from the trade said, “‘2.0’ makers wanted over Rs 100 crore. But the distributors weren’t too keen on paying the exorbitant amount because that would make the film risky.”

However, later finally, the Hindi theatrical rights were sold for Rs 80 crore. The source said, “The exhibitors are sure that they won’t lose money on the price, since Akshay’s presence will give it a pan-India reach.”

The satellite rights of the film have been sold to Zee for a huge amount of Rs 110 crore. So, the theatrical rights have been sold for Rs 80 crore for the Hindi version alone and satellite rights for Rs 110 crore, so the makers have already made nearly Rs 200 crore before the film’s release.
