Arjun Kapoor is gearing up for his upcoming movie ‘Half Girlfriend‘, which sees him teaming up with the successful actor-director combo of Shraddha Kapoor and Mohit Suri, for the first time. The actor, who recently returned to Mumbai after wrapping up the shooting schedule in New York along with Shraddha, expressed that ‘Half Girlfriend’ has been an emotionally grueling but fun experience for him.
Talking about it to an agency, Arjun said, “It has been an amazing experience working on ‘Half Girlfriend’. I loved working with Mohit and Shraddha and the entire team. It has been a difficult film for me emotionally because of the character I am playing. I have really enjoyed myself putting out there. Fingers crossed, hopefully, people will enjoy the film as much as we have enjoyed making.”
The movie is based on a popular novel of the same name, by novelist Chetan Bhagat, who is also venturing out into film production with this movie. The film is also produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and Mohit Suri.
Talking about the involvement of Chetan with ‘Half Girlfriend’ as a co-producer, Arjun further added that Bhagat was very cooperative and did not interfere during the making.
“The best part about Chetan is he is non-interfering. He has never once come and told us that ‘I feel it should be this way and not that’. He is very collaborative. He takes a back seat and has allowed us to take his material and make it our own. It’s been a very good collaborative experience,” added the ‘Ki & Ka’ star.
Arjun will be seen playing the character of Madhav Jha, a young boy from Bihar who is a basketball player. Apart from ‘Half Girlfriend’, Arjun Kapoor will be seen in ‘Mubarakan’ along with his chachu Anil Kapoor. The film will be directed by Anees Bazmee.
‘Half Girlfriend’ is slated to release on May 19, 2017.
