Salman Khan’s Hit & Run Case had taken a new turn with the late Ravindra Patil’s mother initiating a plea against the Khan. Ravindra Patil, who was the prime witness of the Salman Khan 2002 hit and run case, died few years back. Now, his mother Sushilabai Patil has filed a plea that Salman Khan’s bail should be cancelled, the reason being that her son has died under mysterious circumstances. But her plea has been squashed by the High Court much to the relief of Salman Khan.
Sources said, “Justice A R Joshi was of the opinion that Sushilabai Patil has no right to intervene in this case. He said that Ravindra wasn’t a victim in the case since he wasn’t injured in it. That’s the definition under the Criminal Procedure Code. So the Court deduced that since Ravindra Patil cannot be called a victim and same goes for his mother.”
Sources added, “The HC also added that if she has reasons to believe that her son’s death wasn’t normal, she can go through proper channels for justice.Advocate M L Sharma was fighting from Sushilabai’s side and said that granting bail to Salman was violation of rules. He also urged the court to award the actor 10 years of jail term for the crime. Sharma even blamed the state of siding with the accused.”
Ravindra Patil was appointed as Salman Khan guard. The serviceman was present on the fateful night when Salman Khan’s injured four and killed one of the pavement dwellers. Patil had given a statement against the actor. He died from tuberculosis on October 4, 2007.
