Indian Idol 12 judge Himesh Reshammiya today dropped the first song of his studio album, Surroor 2021. The album is a follow-up to his first album Aap Kaa Surroor which released in 2006. The music video for the same takes us back to Himesh in his OG style with the iconic cap in place, however, this time he is more confident, and the music is reprised to fit the 2021 vibe (as they claim so). The video shows Himesh in a ‘rock star’ avatar as he dances and sings in a dessert location while another is a businessman vibe.

Himesh Reshammiya tries to reconstruct his vibe as a performer in the first part of the video as ladies twerk to his music. On the other hand Himesh 2.0, the businessman has a romantic parallel going on with Uditi Singh. The video ends with Himesh starring at the sky (created using CGI) and fireworks with a concluding text introducing a woman to be Himesh’s wife and fades away with the ‘to be continued’ text. It is difficult to ignore the soundtrack given the nostalgia attached to it, plus Himesh in his nasal voice repeating ‘Surroor’ is gold.

Fans expressed their excitement (read- solid excitement) over the release of the Surroor 2021 title track. While fans have been comparing it to the ‘free vaccine everyone needed,’ some went not to hail Himesh back in his iconic cap avatar. Twitter is obviously having a field today with fans reminiscing ‘rockstar’ Himesh’s songs. There is a separate fan base for this, literally.
