Hina Khan is a fashionista and a scroll through her Instagram handle is proof. The ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ actress has made heads turn at award shows, on red carpets, during photoshoots and even when she appeared at the Cannes Film Festival in in 2019 and 2022. The actress debuted at the prestigious film festival to unveil the poster of her film Lines. In 2022, she returned to the French Riviera to launch her Indo-English film, Country of Blind.
This year, however, the actress was absent from the festival. During a recent chat, she revealed missing being part of the celebration and also got candid about the fashion game there. During the chat, Hina lauded fashion influencer Nancy Tyagi for leaving an impression in the French town. For those who do not know, Nancy is a self-taught designer and stylist, who has over 1.7 million Instagram followers She impressed millions by walking the Cannes red carpet in elaborate self-crafted outfits. One of these included a 20 kg heavy pink gown that she took 30 days to stitch.

When asked which is her favourite Cannes 2024 look, Hina Khan told News18 Showsha, “I couldn’t keep a tab on this edition but I did see some looks and they were all nice. But I really liked Nancy (Tyagi). She did so well and I’m so proud of her.”
Praising her for creating and promoting affordable fashion, the ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ actress added, “We’ve some big designers and labels in the fashion industry here. But how many people can actually afford their outfits? Maybe only 10% of our country can. Nancy really helps them by creating similar pieces. She stitches each piece and puts in a lot of effort. And people can buy those outfits at half the price. She’s catering to many, who cannot afford those expensive pieces of clothing.”
Nancy impresses Sonam Kapoor
Recently, Sonam Kapoor also praised the Delhi-based fashion influencer. The ‘Aisha’ actress – while sharing Nancy’s Instagram reel showing her slaying in an elegant saree at Cannes saree, wrote on her Stories, ““Best outfit in Cannes.” She added a request to it that read, “Make me something.”
