Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has been found guilty of all eight charges in the Hit & Run Case. Salman Khan, who has now been convicted, may face a jail term of up to 10 years on charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
Salman Khan was in the witness box, the courtroom is packed to capacity as he listens to the charges with tears in his eyes. Additional Sessions Judge DW Deshpande sentenced him guilty of all charges. Judge DW Deshpande said, “You were driving car, improbable that your driver was at wheel”.
The charges applied by the court on Salman Khan are:-
1:Section 304 II of Indian Penal Code: Culpable Homicide not amounting to murder
2: Section 337 of Indian Penal Code: Causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others
3:Section 338 of Indian Penal Code: Causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others
4:Section 3(1) of Motor Vehicles Act: No person shall drive a motor vehicle in any public place unless he holds an 5:effective driving licence issued to him authorising him to drive the vehicle.
6:Section 134 of Motor Vehicles Act: Duty of driver in case of accident and injury to a person
7:Section 187 of Motor Vehicles Act: Punishment for drunken driving
8:Section 185 of Motor Vehicles Act: If a driver or an owner fails to report involvement of his/her vehicle in an accident and give the required information to the Police Officer concerned, he/she shall be punishable with imprisonment up to 3 months or fine up to 500/- or both in addition to the punishment for the accident, in case convicted.
Salman Khan, who has now been convicted, may face a jail term of up to 10 years on charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder. The case proceedings have come to an end. Details of the actor’s conviction yet to be declared. Arguments for deciding the sentencing for the actor are still underway. He might be taken to Arthur Road Jail.
