Superstar Salman Khan‘s blood samples might have been tampered with, this was the argument put forward by the actors lawyer Amit Desai in the ongoing Hit & Run Case. The defence stated before the High Court that proper procedure was not followed while collecting the blood samples of his client. He also asserted that the Dabangg Khan had not consumed any alcohol on the 2002 hit-and-run mishap involving him.
The appeal filed by Salman Khan against the sentence awarded to him by a session court regarding the 2002 hit and run case is being heard by Justice A R Joshi. Salman Khan’s lawyer has argued that there were a number of discrepancies in the prosecution’s case.
Amit Desai said, “Syringes need to be sterilised. However, the evidence is silent on whether it was done or not. The tampering (with blood samples) has started right from here, the samples, which were sent to the laboratory, were possibly not Salman’s but somebody else’s or they were tampered with. When the blood was drawn, proper procedures and protocols laid down in the law has to be followed, anticoagulant and preservative has to be added and it was not known whether the blood sample was shaken properly to dissolve the anti-coagulant.”
Salman Khan was convicted by a session court in May under charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and running over four people sleeping on the footpath. One person was killed in the incident.
