The superstar of Bollywood Salman Khan was celebrating the success of his recent release Bajrangi Bhaijaan. But in a shocking blow to his happiness, the honorable Supreme Court has accepted to hear a PIL against the Bombay High Court’s order to grant bail to the Khan in the 2002 Hit & Run Case.
Salman Khan was granted bail by the High Court, who had also suspended the actors sentence of five years, in the Hit & Run Case. The High Court had even awarded a 48-hour interim bail to the actor. Two days before the grant of regular bail.
A PIL was filed by an activist Yashwant Singh, a journalist, who had alleged that Salman Khan has been given preferential treatment. Also such bias violates legal principles. It also added that the sessions court “passed the order of conviction and the order of sentencing on the same day, which is in violation of judgement of the Supreme Court of India”.
