Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif’s upcoming, much-anticipated film ‘Jagga Jasoos’ is about to release on July 14. The movie that has been in the making for more than 4 years will finally see light of day, but well, here’s one more twist. The film that has been made with an intention of making a film for kids, has received a U/A certificate from CBFC. This means that kids cannot watch this film alone. They need to be supervised by an adult.
In one of the previous interviews, director of ‘Jagga Jasoos’, Anurag Basu, had said, “After watching Barfi (his last release) my daughter felt it was an okay film. In fact, every time during their (his children) vacation I show them Hollywood children films because we do not have much children film in Bollywood these days. So, I wanted to make a film that children can enjoy! So I thought I should make a film that kids and family can go and watch and enjoy.” So this decision of CBFC to grant it a U/A certificate has surely come as a surprise.
A source close to the director reveals, “We wonder what the censor board saw in ‘Jagga Jasoos’ that made it suitable for children only accompanied by an adult.” While on the other end Pahlaj Nihalani quipped that people will understand why it has been granted a U/A certificate after watching the film.
