‘Horn Ok Pleassss’ producer mocks Tanushree says, ‘She must have been on periods’

Bollywood celebrities have stepped forward in support of actress Tanushree Dutta after she accused veteran actor Nana Patekar of sexually harassing her on the sets of ‘Horn Ok Pleassss’ in 2008. B-town stars from Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar to Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan have supported the ‘Dhol’ star. But there are some who are calling the whole matter overreaction on the part of the actress.

Times Now had carried out a sting operation on the producer of ‘Horn Ok Pleassss’ Samee Siddiqui, the film’s director Rakesh Sarang, the Cine & TV Artists Association (CINTAA) member Raza Murad and former FTII chairperson Gajendra Chauhan and released the tapes on television in which they are caught mocking Tanushree.

In the tapes released by the channel on Thursday, Producer of ‘Horn Ok Pleassss’ Samee Siddiqui was heard commenting: “Should I tell you the truth? I feel that day she was on her periods. So, you get irritated. Small touch or maybe something else, even I don’t know what exactly happened because I wasn’t there.”

The then head of CINTAA’s scrutiny panel Gajendra Chauhan when Tanushree had submitted her complaint 10 years back said that the burden of proof was on Tanushree since she is the victim. He said, “What can CINTAA do? It cannot act like police. It can’t make Nana Patekar appear before it. How will it prove that Nana is the culprit?”

Meanwhile, Rakesh Sarang said that Tanushree was making the allegations because of ‘Bigg Boss’. “Now girls are giving their bedroom sex videos on the internet. This is what has happened to this industry. People are taking their clothes off for publicity. Their attitude is, so what if we get a bad name, at least we’ll get publicity.”

Veteran actor Raza Murad too dismissed Tanushree’s story as an “over-reaction” and backing Nana said that he is a gentleman.

It is truly sad the way these celebrities are trying to shut Tanushree’s plea against Nana Patekar with such baseless insinuations when they should have taken a stand against the harassment to make industry safe for the actresses.
