KriArj Entertainment’s Prernaa Arora is in trouble once again. The Bollywood producer who has been hitting headlines since long has been arrested by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Mumbai police for alleged fraud. A case was filed by producer Vashu Bhagnani and Pooja Entertainment against Prernaa after they learned that she had sold the rights of Sara Ali Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput starrer ‘Kedarnath‘ to Ronnie Screwvala.
As reported by a source to NDTV, Prernaa Arora cheated film-maker Vashu Bhagnani of a sum of Rs. 32 crore, she had taken money from Bhagnani’s firm Pooja Entertainment for exclusive rights of a film. Not only Vashu she had also taken money from multiple investors promising each of them exclusive rights to the same film. None were aware of the other leading to breach in contract.
Prernaa was produced in the Mumbai’s Esplanade Court for a special hearing where her lawyer Ashok Sarogi argued in her defense, after hearing his argument and also of Vashu’s lawyers and a representative from EOW the judge sent Prernaa in EOWs custody till December 10. The matter will be heard again on Monday.
Arora was also embroiled in a court battle with actor-producer John Abraham for the film ‘Parmanu”‘, and other films like ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ and ‘Fanney Khan’.
