With its critical take on the newly introduced GST and also Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India initiative, Tamil film ‘Mersal’ has become the talk of the town. Of what might come across as an act of insecurity, the ruling party condemns how the above subjects have been dealt with in the film.

While this definitely didn’t go down well with many of the film fraternity, actor Farhan Akhtar took to Twitter and slammed Rao.
“How dare you, sir? And to all film people in his ranks.. here’s what he thinks of you. #shame,” he wrote.

The film has already received thumbs up from a number of eminent people including Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan and Raveena Tandon. It is also going great guns at the Tamil box office with over a Rs 100 Crore collection in three days.
