Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer Jodhaa Akbar is one of the greatest and much cherished romantic period dramas, in the history of Indian cinema. The film was directed by Ashutosh Gowariker and it was a blockbuster hit. Exactly on this day, 15 years ago, Jodhaa Akbar starring Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was released in theatres. On that occasion, an unseen photo of the actors, from the sets has surfaced on Instagram.

Celebrity photographer Avinash Gowariker took to his Instagram and shared a string of photos from the sets of Jodhaa Akbar as the film clocks 15 years of release. He shared a peek into the time he did a photoshoot with Hrithik and Aishwarya, for the posters of the film. The photographer shared throwback photos which also feature Ashutosh Gowariker. The last photo in the string is a behind-the-scenes shot of Aishwarya and Hrithik.
In the photo, Roshan is clicked holding the laptop, while overlooking the snaps from the photoshoot, with Aishwarya standing right next to him. They looked engaged with work. The actors look mesmerizing as Akbar and Jodhaa bai in the BTS photo.
Avinash Gowariker also treated his Instagram followers with photos of the posters he shot for Jodhaa Akbar. In the caption of his post, the photographer said that shooting for the posters of the Ashutosh Gowariker directorial have been one of the favourite’s he has ever shot.
Celebrating 15 years of Jodhaa Akbar, Gowariker wrote, “15YearsOfJodhaaAkbar Definitely one of my favourite posters that I’ve ever shot… Shooting @hrithikroshan & @aishwaryaraibachchan_arb for @ashutoshgowariker… Can a photographer ask for anything better than that combination?!”
Directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, Jodhaa Akbar was released theatrically on February 15, 2008. The film was a critical and commercial success. It also emerged as the third highest grossing Hindi film of 2008. Jodhaa Akbar received 11 International Indian Film Academy Awards, two awards in Choreography and costume design at the 56th National Film Awards, and five Filmfare awards after 11 nominations, amongst other accolades.
The film featured Hrithik, Aishwarya, in the titular roles of Emperor Akbar and Queen Jodhaa bai of Amber who got married in a political marriage.
