Madhu Mantena adapting Ramayana have been in news since long. As per the latest report, Mantena’s Ramayana would be in 3D and made on a huge budget of Rs 300 crores. Nitesh Tiwari will be helming the mega project. Ravi Udyawar will also be associated with the epic film. As per a report in SpotboyE, the film would be of ‘inordinate length, as no aspect of the Holy Scripture would be left undermined or left out’. Mantena may also release it in two full-length feature films.

The portal quoted a source saying, “These are sensitive times. And the last thing the Ramayan needs is an underwhelming treatment or a revisionist screenplay. Mantena has deployed several researchers to project absolute accuracy and preserve complete sanctity in his film version of the venerated epic.”

The report also states that A-listers are being finalized. Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone might play the roles of Ram and Sita.

It was in 2019, Madhu Mantena announced that Nitesh Tiwari and Ravi Udyawar will be co-directing Ramayana. Ever since the announcement, there have been speculations that Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone will be starring in this magnum opus. Nitesh Tiwari had earlier told Koimoi, “I have not yet started thinking about the cast yet. First, we are trying to get it right on papers, with our executions, and with our thought process and everything. We are still trying to get there.. baki baatein we’ll start with later.”

Going by the latest report, it seems that Deepika and Hrithik might come together as they are the front runners. It would be a great moment for their fans to see them together as Ram and Sita in this mythological drama. Meanwhile, they will star together in Fighter.

Ramayana is said to target pan-India as well as the global audience. It will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi and Gujarati.
