Hrithik Roshan opens up on equation with ex-wife Sussanne Khan: My sons need to know their mother is loved and respected

Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan announced their separation after 13 years of marriage in 2013 and got divorced in 2014. Even after the divorce, they have remained good friends and parents to their children – Hrehaan and Hridhaan. The entire family are often seen going on holidays, movies, lunch, dinners, etc.

In an interview with DNA, Hrithik opened up on his bonding with his ex-wife. He said, “It’s sad that my equation with Sussanne is looked upon as rare when it should be common practice to strive towards peace and happiness, especially for our children.”

He further said, “Even now, some people ask me why I am so good to my ex, and I explain to them that as a father, I am bringing up two men, and they need to know that their mother is loved and respected. They need to learn that two people can be separated but still stand united as a family.”

Earlier while speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Sussanne said, “I have a support system in Hrithik. It’s not a marriage, but we are friends. That zone is so sacred to me, it doesn’t make me feel sad or lonely. My kids are go-getters. They organise things!”

Hrithik and Sussanne have been supportive of each other in their tough times. In fact, during the Kangana-Hrithik controversy, Sussanne came in support of her ex-husband.

Recently, Sussanne praised Hrithik on Instagram on his performance in ‘Super 30’. She wrote on Hrithik’s post, “It’s one of your best ever… so so proud of you”.
