In an exclusive interview with a news portal, Hrithik Roshan revealed how Koi Mil Gaya almost didn’t get made. Hrithik said, “When my father got the idea, it was bolstered by my incredible superlative reaction to it. I was so excited by the idea of playing this character, I could just feel that there is something waiting to explode. That gave him the humongous push at that time until the outside world started infiltrating that solid thought and gave him a worldview, telling him, ‘Hey, this is an action hero (Hrithik) and you are making him play the character of a mentally challenged guy in a sci-fi film, there is jaadu..it’s too risky and at this point of time your son should comeback as an action hero’.”
He added, “He hit a breaking point and he told me, ‘Let’s not make it,’ Then I remember talking to his very good friend Anil Kapoor. I asked him what he felt about the film, and he said he absolutely loved it, then I begged him to convince my dad to make the film. I think he could see in my eyes the sense of loss and how heart-breaking it would have been if my father would not make this film. Anil had a conversation with my dad, I entered that conversation and within that conversation, I saw my dad’s eyes lit up. Then he took the decision and it was unbreakable.”
A few days back, Rakesh Roshan opened up about risking Hrithik’s career with Koi Mil Gaya as he had a string of flop films before that. He further shared how the film went on to become a rage.
