With every passing day, the unrest in the country regarding the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) is growing. A host of Bollywood celebs came out and shared their views on CAA and the recent breakdown of police on students in the Jamia Milia Islamia University campus. Now ‘Super 30’ actor Hrithik Roshan took to his Twitter handle and shared his views on the Citizenship Amendment Act.
However, the ‘War’ actor was mercilessly trolled by the audience as he credited India as the ‘youngest democracy’ in his post.
Yesterday, Hrithik took to his Twitter handle and wrote, “As a parent and a citizen of India, I am deeply saddened by the unrest across various educational institutions of our country. I hope and pray for peace to return as soon as possible. Great teachers learn from their students. I salute the worlds youngest democracy(sic).”

Now as soon as Hrithik shared the above post, he was soon schooled by the netizens as India is not “Youngest Democracy”. Also, a certain section of the users felt that the actor was trying too hard to be diplomatic.
You can check out some of the comments trolling the actor below:
India is not the world’s youngest democracy. And people are increasingly worried about how long we will remain one.

The sudden interest by ill informed film stars & celebrities, who are generally known to keep quiet, in #CAA protests is creating suspicion in the minds. Is it orchestrated? By who? Why?

Apart from Hrithik, several other celebs such as Vicky Kaushal, Priyanka Chopra, Richa Chadha and Sayani Gupta had come out and expressed their solidarity with the protesting students.
On December 15, the Delhi Police had entered the campus of Jamia Millia Islamia after its students participated in a protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act.
