Hrithik Roshan’s cousin Pashmina Roshan to make film debut with Rohit Saraf in Ishq Vishk Rebound

In 2003, Ken Ghosh gave an insight into the fun and happening life of Indian youngsters in college with the love story Ishq Vishk. Not only that, the film also gave India one of its leading superstars of today, Shahid Kapoor, who made his debut with the film. He reinvented the term chocolate hero with his portrayal while also making for one of the most loved on screen duos in Indian films with Amrita Rao. Almost two decades later, the film is returning with a sequel with another couple of fresh faces, including Hrithik Roshan’s cousin, Pashmina Roshan.

The producer of the 2003 original, Tips Official, took to their social media accounts this morning to announce the revival of the love story titled Ishq Vishk Rebound, with a quirky announcement video, writing, “When relationships can be found on apps, and lost over a chat, you know that love needs an upgrade. ISHQ VISHK REBOUND. It’s time to move on. (sic)” Even the leading lady from 2003, Amrita shared the announcement video reliving the nostalgia and expressing her excitement.

Along with it, the makers unveiled the new Gen-Z star cast of the film which features Rohit Saraf in the lead alongside Pashmina Roshan who is making her Hindi film debut with it. Pashmina is Hrithik Roshan’s cousin and the reports of her film debut had been doing rounds for quite a few years now, with the actor himself announcing her entry into films a couple years ago. One of the other two leading faces in the film is Jibraan Khan, who is best known as Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol’s son from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. He had done some few other films as well as a child actor including Rishtey and Kyo Kii… Main Jhuth Nahi Bolta. While the other actress in the film is Naila Grewal, who has previously appeared in films like Bhangra Paa Le and Thappad.

Ishq Vishk featured Shahid and Amrita in the lead alongside Shenaz Treasury and Vishal Malhotra and was a huge success on its release. While the 2003 film was directed by Ken Ghosh, the new film in the franchise is being helmed by Nipun Avinash Dharmadhikari. The film is produced by Ramesh Taurani and co-produced by Jaya Taurani. The shooting for the film has already begun and it is eyeing a release in 2023.
