Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh graced the first episode of Karan Johar-hosted Koffee With Karan 8 last year. While the episode received a lot of love, Deepika was trolled for her open relationship remark on the show. For the uninitiated, Deepika had said that there was no ‘real commitment’ between her and Ranveer at the beginning of their relationship, and they were ‘technically allowed’ to see other people until they got engaged. Now, on the podcast ‘After Hours with All About Eve’, Huma Qureshi shared her thoughts on Deepika getting trolled for her revelation about her personal life.
Huma Qureshi defends Deepika Padukone
The actress said, “Ab kya bol sakte hai, kuch nahi bol sakte hain (What can we say now, we cannot say anything). Ridiculous. Be normal about it (Dating people). Like what is the problem? No, but we (ceelebs) are supposed to present a kind of palatable something that they (trolls) are expecting. I don’t know what it is; I don’t think anybody knows what it is. Yeah, but also we are in this trolling culture. Troll everyone. Troll people wearing black, troll people not wearing black. You know what I mean?”
Earlier, Deepika had also reacted to getting trolled over it.
On the work front, Deepika was last seen in Siddharth Anand’s Fighter co-starring Hrithik Roshan, Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, and Akshay Oberoi. The actress will be next seen in Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD with Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan, followed by Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again.
Talking about Huma, she recently launched her book ‘Zeba: An Accidental Superhero’.
