‘I am alive,’ says Poonam Pandey after faking her death, shares video about awareness on cervical cancer

Poonam Pandey is alive. Yes, you read that right! A day after faking her death, Poonam has now shared a video on her Instagram, saying that she is alive. The controversial star further shared awareness about cervical cancer.

For the uninitiated, on Friday, the official handle of Poonam shared a post about her death, saying that she died due to cervical cancer. Post that, many celebrities including Pooja Bhatt, Munawar Faruqui, Rakhi Sawant, Helly Shah, Dheeraj Dhoopar, Karan Kundrra, and others extended their heartfelt condolences. Poonam now shared a video and wrote in the caption, “I feel compelled to share something significant with you all – I am here, alive. Cervical Cancer didn’t claim me, but tragically, it has claimed the lives of thousands of women who stemmed from a lack of knowledge on how to tackle this disease. Unlike some other cancers, Cervical Cancer is entirely preventable.”

She added, “The key lies in the HPV vaccine and early detection tests. We have the means to ensure no one loses their life to this disease. In the video, Poonam says, “I’m alive. I didn’t die because of Cervical Cancer. Unfortunately, I cannot say that about hundreds and thousands of women who have lost their lives because of Cervical Cancer. It is not because they couldn’t do anything about it, because they had no idea what to do about it.”

On Friday, Poonam’s team issued a statement on her death. The statement reads, “This morning is a tough one for u. Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living form that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness. In this time of grief, we would request for privacy while we remember her fondly for all that we shared.”
