Just yesterday we witnessed the trailer of Vidya Balan‘s upcoming film ‘Begum Jaan’ directed by Srijit Mukherjee and we were left speechless. Vidya has once again enthralled us with her flawless performance. Her character is that of a brothel owner who is strong and ruthless enough to fight for her right. In the trailer, we see Vidya in a very fierce avatar, at times even mouthing some abuses at given situations.
So was she okay with the use of expletives in the film? Well absolutely. At the trailer launch of the film, Vidya saidg, “The place where she comes from, she abuses a lot and easily. It’s no big deal. When I was playing the role there was no apprehension with regards to the language. I can’t be Begum Jaan and speak shayarana Urdu.”
She further joked, “All the abuses which I can’t give otherwise, I said it here.”
Well, the way she speaks in the film, surely adds up to her character and makes it more authentic on-screen.
‘Begum Jaan’ is produced by Mukesh Bhatt and Vishesh Bhatt and will make it to the theatres on April 14. Apart from Vidya, Gauahar Khan, Ila Arun, Pallavi Sharda, Chunky Pandey and others would be seen essaying pivotal roles.
