Actor Jaaved Jaaferi has been roped in as brand ambassador for India International Animation and Cartoon Film Festival (IIACFF), which will provide a platform for cartoonists and animators to showcase their talent.
The five-day event will be held from October 1-5 and will take place at The Lalit hotel here.
IIACFF aims to change the scenario of the animation industry and the students associated with cartoon and animation in India. The festival will bring together filmmakers and television artists, who specialise in animation and visual effects in movies.
It will create a platform for students to showcase their work to the audience and jury members, which include Sharad Dutt, former director of Doordarshan; filmmaker and animator Soumitra Ranade; Satyajit Bhatkal, director of TV show “Satyamev Jayate”; and “Mary Kom” actress Rajni Basumatary among others.
The festival will emphasise on youth and will try to cater to school students interest in the feild of animation.
IIACFF will also be marked by a panel discussion by animators and filmmakers. The festival will encourage parents to attend the gala and gain knowledge about the animation industry.
The best films selected by the jury will be recognised and awarded.
