Actress Ileana D’Cruz started working in South films at a very young age. She made her Bollywood debut with Anurag Basu’s Barfi!. She played the role of Shruti Ghosh, a Bengali young girl. Her character was very much loved by the audience. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, when Ileana was asked if she was offered a similar kind of role post Barfi, to which she said, “I got a role of a Bengali girl that was offered to me and that was set in the 80s. I was like ‘no’. I didn’t want to play the same thing again. Maybe a few years down the line, I could play a similar role. I wanted to try something different.”
Ileana dabbled between content and genres. She didn’t stick to one genre. She did all sorts of characters in every film like Pagalpanti, Baadshaho, Raid, Mubarakan and The Big Bull among others.
For the unversed, Ileana was offered two films Kick and Wanted with Salman Khan but she couldn’t be part of it because of date issues. When asked if she regrets not being part of those films, Ileana said, “I don’t necessarily regret it. If there is anything that I do regret is the fact that I haven’t done more work, maybe I could have managed my time better and done more work. So, that’s the only thing I do regret. But apart from that, no. I am happy with the choices I have made.”
