Imran Khan Reveals Why Karan Johar ‘Sexed-Up’ His Image In I Hate Luv Storys; Says, “He Decided To Revamp My Image”

Imran Khan recently discussed how Karan Johar transformed his image for the film I Hate Luv Storys. The actor reflected on the changes made ahead of the film’s release, which also starred Sonam Kapoor and was directed by Punit Malhotra. Imran recalled an old photoshoot where Karan aimed for an effortlessly sexy look, as he played a flirtatious character. After some time away from the industry to focus on his mental health, Imran shared insights into his experience.

During an episode of the Moments of Silence podcast, Imran explained, “Karan decided to revamp my image. Generally, I don’t gain much weight, but I was watching my diet and exercising specifically for the film. Karan wanted to capitalize on that, so we did a lot of… topless shoots.”

In a 2010 interview with IANS about I Hate Luv Storys, Imran commented on his appearance in the film. He noted Karan’s keen vision for how he should look, emphasizing that Karan wanted him to have a sexy edge for his role as a womanizer. Imran stated, “Karan is very particular about the look. He insisted that my clothes fit me a certain way and that I exude an effortlessly sexy vibe.”

When asked about how he met his girlfriend, Lekha Washington, Imran shared, “We were part of a friend group. Her then-partner was actually an old school friend of mine, so we were all connected within the same circle.”

Discussing their cohabitation, Imran described himself as a minimalist who owns few belongings, while Lekha enjoys keeping unique items she finds. He remarked, “In the early years of our relationship, we lived in separate places.
