Imtiaz Ali on Jab We Met 2
In an interview with News 18, the Amar Singh Chamkila director said, “Why have a sequel to Jab We Met (laughs)? If people want to keep relishing the film, they can keep watching the first one! There has to be a story and a reason to make Jab We Met 2. But let’s see if it happens. Never say never!”
The director also spoke about reuniting with Kareena Kapoor Khan. He remarks, “Whenever you work with an actor, there’s also a responsibility to not do anything just for the sake of it. The idea is to reunite only when there’s a better or a completely different project compared to what you’ve done before. Kareena and I are so fond of working with each other but we’ve never had the chance to work again till date because there was nothing different and unique enough or better than what we’ve done before. We don’t want to dull the memory of Jab We Met. If you’ve had a great experience working with an actor, the next experience should also be good, otherwise there’s no point. I look at it that way.”
Imtiaz Ali has been in the limelight following the massive success of Diljit Dosanjh starrer Amar Singh Chamkila. The musical drama released on Netflix also starred Parineeti Chopra. The film is garnering rave response ever since it was released.
