The ‘Jab We Met’ director Imtiaz Ali was looking extremely contented, even after going through a personal turmoil of a divorce with his wife Preety. Imtiaz in a candid manner reveals all about life after divorce from his wife. He feels at present he is a mixed bag of emotions. He prefers not to be a a ch***a version of himself, by being bond in a relation where your identity changes as per the will of others.
As per sources, Imtiaz Ali said, “I feel a different person after splitting from my wife Preety. I had become very formal in my approach to everybody. Marriage is so artificial; it comes with so many do’s and don’ts that not only make you claustrophobic but also mediocre. It reduces you to a ch***a version of yourself, you play roles to meet someone else’s expectations. Today, I say things as they are. I’m not hypocritical. I am as open-minded as when I was in school and college.”
Imtiaz Ali further added that, “I’d say I’m angrier and sadder as well. It’s a mixed bag of emotions. Regarding hating the institution of marriage, I feel that the men who stay married hate the institution of marriage more. I don’t know if I will marry again or not. Who can predict the future? Right now, I’m focused on my next film, Tamasha. Ranbir (Kapoor) and I had been talking about it for ages. It takes off in July.”
At present Imtiaz Ali is more focused on his next upcoming project ‘Tamasha’ with Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone.
