The princess effect
For their debut at ICW, Shyamal and Bhumika unveiled their collection titled ‘The Princess’ Soiree’, which was a blend of traditional crafts with modern day sensibilities. Their collection showcased an eclectic mix of crafts, colours and silhouettes and perfectly captured the Indian modern bride but with a hint of European inspiration. Actress Athiya Shetty transformed into a dazzling muse for the designer duo. The lady shimmered in a dripping gold embroidery cape that was clubbed with a black lehenga with mesmerising floral gold thread work all over it. If you take a close look at the outfit, you’ll see an extensive usage of sequins, innumerable iridescent crystals and stone encrusting. Athiya’s also wearing an exquisite gold choker with delicate pearls.
At her shimmery best
Isn’t the starlet the perfect choice for the interpretation of the modern-day woman? The stylist has opted for poker straight, middle-parted hair, peachy lips and gold kada to accentuate the look. We are totally in love with the floor-grazing cape with a plunging neckline that adds a touch of royalty.
Curing the monsoon blues
Amid a live performance by a Rajasthani folk singer, designer Reynu Taandon showcased her CYAN collection inspired from the mysticism of peacock blue hues at the India Couture Week with actress Bhumi Pednekar sizzling on the ramp as the showstopper.
Look at that ghera
Bhumi donned these lovely royal blue separates that included a flared lehenga and embroidered long jacket. How we’re drooling over the bold undertones, intricate detailing and beautiful thread work that gently weave in the magic of monsoon colours. The actress was seen in a minimal make-up look, pulled-back hair and delicate danglers.
Watch my back
And the actress brings sexy back. Look at that deep back neck that’s oozing glamour! We particularly like the soft curls given in the low ponytail. We just can’t wait to see what Day 4 has in store for us.
The capital city’s much-awaited annual couture presentation India Couture Week 2017 kicked off on July 24, amidst much hype and hoopla. Ah, the colourful runway is a spectacle of grand sets, ebullient ensembles and brimming with all the glamour dose you needed for this year (well, almost). This week-long fiesta has already given us some hot trends with Arjun Rampal and Disha Patani sizzling their way through the ramp. While we were still recuperating from those avatars, here are two more divas who’ve quietly made it to the headlines by flaunting their love for the Indian tradition. While Bhumi Pednekar turned showstopper for Reynu Taandon, Athiya showcased duo Shyamal and Bhumika’s ICW debut collection. We couldn’t stop staring at their stunning outfits, seriously!
