India Lockdown: Prateik Babbar and Shweta Basu Prasad to star in Madhur Bhandarkar’s next social drama

Madhur Bhandarkar is known for making films that depict the reality of the society that we live in. The filmmaker has announced his next, India Lockdown. The film will chronicle how Coronavirus induced lockdown affected everyone’s life.

India Lockdown will feature Prateik Babbar, Shweta Basu Prasad, Sai Tamhankar, Aahana Kumra, and Prakash Belawadi. The teaser poster of the film was unveiled yesterday and it will go on floors next week.

Sharing the teaser poster of the film, Madhur took to his Twitter handle and wrote, “Film India Lockdown is all set to go on floor next week. Here’s a teaser poster. Give your love.@prateikbabbar @SaieTamhankar @AahanaKumra @shweta_official @ShihabZarin #PrakashBelawadi #IndiaLockdown(sic).”

Earlier speaking about the film, Bhandarkar had told Bombay Times, “All of us were holed up in our homes, and for the first few months, we didn’t know what to do with our lives. We were not accustomed to this life. Through the film, I will try to understand what helped us survive.”

Inspired by true events, this Bhandarkar directorial will showcase how the lockdown affected everyone irrespective of their different strata and demographics. India Lockdown is bankrolled by Bhandarkar Entertainment and PJ Motion Pictures. The film also features Zarin Shihab.
