Actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who was last seen in Dinesh Vijan’s ‘Raabta’, is kicked about his next project ‘Chanda Mama Door Ke’. Touted to be India’s first space odyssey, the story revolves around a team of astronauts and is inspired from the 1968 Hollywood hit movie ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’.
Sushant plays the role of an astronaut in the movie and as a part of the preparation, the actor had been doing intense training at NASA’s Space and Rocket Centre in Alabama. Speaking to Mid-Day, he revealed some inside details from his NASA trip. Said Sushant, “I’m an engineering student. So, I am finally getting the chance to put all my studies to practice in this film. The training sessions were surreal. But I realise the training for this film is an ongoing process. Movies have, so far, given us a glamourous view of space, but our attempt will be to make it as authentic as possible.” (Also Read: Did Sushant Singh Rajput get into a street fight with a driver?)
He added, “I have got a few more gadgets as well. I have a dedicated room in my house, where I prepare for this film. It’s my very own workstation which helps me sink into my character.”
There were some reports which stated that Sushant and recommended close friend Kriti Sanon’s name for the female lead. However, he shrugged off these reports by saying, “I only push for myself in films. I ask them to take me. They are close to signing someone and they will announce it.”
Sushant has had a topsy-turvy year till now. While on one hand he tasted success and accolades for his role in ‘M.S.Dhoni: The Untold Story’, his last venture ‘Raabta’ was a box office failure. Let’s see if this movie can bring the actor back on track.
‘Chanda Mama Door Ke’ is directed by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan also stars R Madhavan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in important roles.
