Trolls, who? Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare impress netizens with a simple wedding ceremony

Actor Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare have become the talk of their town, all thanks to their unconventional wedding. Nupur and Ira have challenged the wedding norms which made a lot of noise. While some brutally trolled the newlyweds, some showed a lot of support for going out of the way. There are several who praised them for having a simple wedding.

Not only that, they were highly criticised for their choice of clothes. As Nupur wore a black ganji and white shorts, Ira picked a colour block blouse and dhoti pants for their wedding. Yes, it was an extraordinary wedding and not a regular Bollywood wedding and hence, people couldn’t digest it properly.

Speaking about the criticism, one said, “Kis kaam ka Amir Ka Paisa …bhikhari Ki tarah Shaadi”. Another one said, “Ira have no fashion sense how wear dress at wedding”. There was one more who wrote, “Kitna bakwas makup h dono ka he….or kya phna hua hai…kon h designer ya to amir sir ne pese he khrch ni kiye”. Amidst the heavy trolling, we also got to see positive reviews as well. A user wrote, “Simple and graceful. No designer outfit, just being herself.. simplicity is beautiful”. While another fan commented, “Very Simple and graceful. We should learn from them.”

We also got to see comments like, “She is so simple and beautiful she doesn’t have the attitude at all”. “Appreciate them not wasting money for expensive designers suit.”

Ira and Nupur had a registered marriage on January 3 where they signed the nikanamah. They will have a three-day wedding that is reportedly taking place next week in Udaipur. The families will be hosting a pre-wedding reception tonight at Taj Lands End in Mumbai. A grand reception will take place at the Jio World Convention Centre on January 13.
