Bollywood lost one of its most celebrated and cherished actors, Irrfan Khan today. This year will never be the same again. The 53-year-old actor breathed his last in a Mumbai hospital today. Owning to the nationwide lockdown, only a few of his extremely close friends from B-town were able to attend his funeral.
Irrfan’s co-stars and several other actresses like Deepika Padukone, Vidya Balan, Saba Qamar, Parvathy took to their social media handles, to offer their heartfelt condolences.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Aishwarya, who has worked with Irrfan in ‘Jazbaa’, took to her Instagram stories and shared, “Heartbreaking news… so saddened to hear about the demise of my dear friend Irrfan… the brightest, most genuine, humble, kind and eventually bravest soul… May he Rest in Peace. God Bless Much love and strength to Sutapa, Babil, Ayan and his loved ones at this very difficult time.”
Deepika Padukone
Deepika posted a black screen alongside a broken heart emoji. The actress is so devastated by the sudden demise of Irrfan that she couldn’t even express her emotions in words. She had worked with him in Shoojit Sircar’s ‘Piku’.

Vidya Balan
For several years, rumours of Vidya and Irrfan coming together for a project were doing the rumours. Unfortunately, they did star in the same film ‘Thank You’ but they could never share the same frame. “I didn’t know you well but i can’t stop crying today because your performances affected me in a very personal way…I guess thats your magic and that will always remain. Take care#IrrfanKhan. My heart breaks at the thought of your family but i pray for Sutapa and your boys,” she tweeted.

Parvathy
Actress Parvathy has worked with Irrfan in rom-com ‘Qarib Qarib Singlle’. Offering her condolence, Parvathy shared a few stills from their film and wrote, “For that persistent ever-curious artistic spirit that created worlds from scratch, for always including your fellow actors in the joy of such creations, for owning those very human errors as well as the generosity of your being, for always believing “it’s just the beginning!” Remembering you, Irrfan. मेरा सलाम।?”

Saba Qamar
Pakistani actress Saba Qamar, who featured opposite Irrfan in ‘Hindi Medium’, took to Twitter and wrote, “Deeply disturbed to hear about the passing of Irrfan Khan. It feels like yesterday coming back from the sets of Hindi Medium. You taught me a lot as an actor and a mentor. Such a brilliant actor gone too soon. I’m at a loss for words. Irrfan has been battling cancer for the last two years. Yesterday he was admitted in Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital with a colon infection. He breathed his last today. We offer our heartfelt condolences to the actor’s family and friends.
