Irrfan Khan honoured at Dubai International Film Festival

Just a couple of days ago, Irrfan Khan had won the Best Actor award at Star Screen Awards for his performance in ‘Hindi Medium’. And now, the actor was given Honorary Award at Dubai International Film Festival.

The actor shared stage with famous Cate Blanchett, Patrick Stewart and Wahid Hamed. Irrfan took to twitter to inform his fans about it. He tweeted, “Thank you @dubaifilm for the honour. It was a pleasure to share the same stage with #CateBlanchett , #PatrickStewart and #WahidHamed.”

Even the official Twitter handle of Dubai Film Festival tweeted a picture from the red carpet and wrote, “Irrfan Khan has arrived! Tonight he will be the recipient of our #DIFF17 Honorary Award!”

2017 was a good year for Irrfan, both of his films ‘Hindi Medium’ and ‘Qarib Qarib Singlle’ received a lot of critical acclaim. While the former was even a hit at the box office, the latter failed to make a mark.

He will next be seen in ‘Karwan’ which marks the Bollywood debut of South heartthrob Dulquer Salmaan. Irrfan will also be seen in Sapna Didi biopic which will have Deepika Padukone in the lead role. After ‘Piku’, this will be for the second time when Deepika and Irrfan will be working together. The movie will be directed by Honey Trehan and produced by Vishal Bhardwaj and KriArj Entertainment.
