Irrfan Khan’s mother Saeeda Begum passes away; actor unable to attend funeral amid the lockdown

Irrfan Khan’s mother Saeeda Begum breathed her last in Jaipur. She was 95. She died due to age-related ailments. Unfortunately owing to the nationwide lockdown, then actor won’t be able to attend his mother’s funeral.

Soon after wrapping up ‘Angrezi Medium’, Irrfan stayed away from the limelight. He didn’t even participate in the film’s promotion owing to his health issues. As per a report in New Indian Express, Irrfan is in Mumbai and the funeral of his mother will take place in Jaipur today. However, with the current restrictions on national and international flights, the actor won’t be able to fly back home.

The actor’s mother belonged to a Nawabi family. She was a poet and had two more sons, Salman and Imran.

Irrfan’s brother Salman told the daily, “My mother had been ill for some time. But suddenly her health deteriorated on Saturday morning. Recently, mother had inquired about Irrfan bhai’s health.”  

Reacting on the news of Irrfan’s mother’s death, his good friend Shoojit Sircar told SpotBoyE, “It’s very sad. I have yet to talk to him, though. I will be calling him.”
