Irrfan Khan’s son Babil more often shares anecdotes and memories of him with his father. Today, Babil took to his Instagram handle to share a throwback picture of Irrfan Khan in remembrance of his “baba” and penned an emotional post.
Sharing the picture, Babil wrote, “Hey man, I am so lost. I can’t figure out who to trust. I doubt my self, you know? I’m insecure, I’m frightened by the prospect of a godless world. My mind is in war with my gut, I am hopelessly falling In love with attention, I am hopelessly heartbroken that it’s all for nothing.”

Babil’s mom and Irrfan’s wife Sutapa Sikdar commented on her son’s post as she wrote, “He looked at that time quite similar to you though I find you more good looking. He was just a year old from you when he did this third year student production ‘the dumb waiter Harold Pinter’s play.he didn’t have the luxury to indulge in existential questions at that time. He knew one Mantra and that was of working hard.”
Irrfan Khan passed away in April 2020 after a two-year battle with a neuroendocrine tumour. Recently, in an interview with Film Companion, Babil recalled his last words with his dad. “I was there in the hospital in the last two days. He was losing consciousness. He just looked at me, smiled, and said, ‘I am going to die.’ And I said, ‘No, you are not.’ He smiled again and went back to sleep. But I really feel like he had surrendered completely. There are no words to achieve that kind of evolution I think,” he said.
Well, Babil is making his acting debut with Netflix’s Qala. Directed by Anvitaa Dutt, the film also stars Tripti Dimri and Swastika Mukherjee.
