The second wave of coronavirus has hit our country badly. People are suffering a lot and losing their near and dear ones. Given the rise in covid cases, people are fighting the war of life and death. Many celebrities are coming forward to support the people in need. They are doing their bit to help and provide oxygen cylinders, medicines and even food items. Several celebs also have also come up with initiatives to raise funds. Celebs are urging fans to donate as much as they can.

Irrfan Khan’s wife Sutapa Sikdar who is an active social media user took to her Facebook and urged her followers to donate and help the needy as much as possible. Sutapa wrote, “Donations for Covid. Donate donate donate not to any care fund. look around and do it yourself. Or to Gurudwaras. The money will be spend conscientiously for any community is my observation through many calamities. And they don’t do it in lieu of conversation of any kind religious political spiritual. the donations will go from people to the people. #gratitude #covidwarriors #wewillsurvive.”

After her post many followers agreed to her as one wrote, “Better direct to the patients family some people are cheating in name of funding also.. so be careful,” another user wrote, “Yes, I think you should make yourself just available to talk to Covid patients or their family members.” Another user wrote, “Yes that is the best approach Sutapa Sikdar di.”

A few days back Sutapa revealed that she lost a relative in Delhi due to coronavirus. In her post, she expressed her anger for not being able to secure a hospital bed for the relative. Sue had recently marked Irrfan’s first death anniversary, with a series of interviews and remembrances. The actor died on April 29 last year after a two-year battle with a neuroendocrine tumour. She told Film Companion that after bottling in her emotions for many months, she ‘cried uncontrollably for days’ at a Jaipur wedding, because Rajasthan brought back memories of Irrfan, and because it was the first time she was away from her children and didn’t have to put on a brave face for them.
