Is Ayushmann Khurrana planning to make a debut on OTT? Actor REVEALS

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana is often seen picking unconventional roles that are packed with social messages. All of his movies have some message to convey to the masses. Similarly, Ayushmann is set to impress the audience with his diverse role in Dream Girl 2 where he will be playing a girl. Given the fact that he is hit among the masses, one wonders if he will ever going set foot in the OTT space. During the trailer launch of Dream Girl 2, Khurrana was asked if he wants to experiment on OTT as well.

Ayushmann Khurrana on his plans for OTT

An Action Hero actor said, “I believe that OTT is a great revolution and if I have to go overboard with experimentation, then OTT is the place. But it depends on the opportunities you get. And I’m quite lucky and fortunate that I have gotten opportunities not just to portray different characters but also to showcase different subjects on celluloid. Dream Girl 2 is going to be a mass entertainer. This is the first time that it’ll be the massiest of all and this time, it is going to be. This is the time when there’s a fusion between theatrical and OTT. The plot of the film is theatrical and it’s a family mass entertainer.”

Ayushmann further revealed, “Normal joh subject based film hoti hai woh multiplex hoti hai. But, Dream Girl pehli wali was the only film joh chote sheharo se kari thi. Toh I think yeh chote se chote shehero se lekar bade se bade shehro tak jayegi. Iska tone waisa hai film ka. (Usually, subject-based films are considered more suitable for multiplex audiences. However, the first part of Dream Girl was the only film that happened in a small town. So, I believe this sequel will reach audiences from the smallest to the largest cities. The tone of the film aligns with that idea).”

Ayushmann Khurrana on the success of small-budget movies

Khurrana said, “I think it will always be content. This is the era where the content will always shine. I’m glad that medium-budget films are doing well now, it was not the case last year. This year, the scenario has been changed, it is like a welcome change. and this kind of wave will continue to come, I’m glad. Last week films have done at the box office so I’m really excited about Dream Girl 2.”

Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, Dream Girl 2 is headlined by Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday. The movie is scheduled to release on August 25.
