Is Karan Johar disappointed with Ayan Mukerji over Brahmastra 2? Here’s the truth behind their rift

According to the latest reports, filmmaker Karan Johar is disappointed with Ayan Mukerji and the reason is said to be him taking up War 2 while leaving Brahmastra 2 in the lurch. For the unversed, Ayan will be directing Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR starrer War 2. Reportedly, Karan wants Ayan to finish the Brahmastra sequels before shooting for War 2 and hence, a rift was caused between the two.

Is Karan and Ayan Mukerji’s fallout rumour real?

Now, the latest report suggests that the rift between Karan and Ayan is false. According to a report in Hindustan Times, a source was quoted saying, “This is not true. It is a gossip-mongering piece which is trying to create a rift between the two. The two very much have the same bond which they have had until now. Ayan has given Karan a big hit, and the latter has been a big support to him, right from launching him as a director with Wake Up! Sid. Brahmastra was a big film, made possible only by the complete faith the two showed in each other.”

Amidst the fallout rumours, Karan Johar had written a lovely post on Ayan Mukerji on his birthday ahead of Brahmastra release. He wrote, “Love is such a strong feeling and emotion… it can be divided and yet felt in abundance… I love you Ayan and feel protective about you as much as i do for my twins…. I know the decade( a whole decade) of work you have put into your film BRAHMASTRA … I have never seen anyone dedicate most of their professional lives to one project the way you have … What tomorrow or rather the 9th of September holds for us we can’t predict at this moment! But your commitment and hard work is already a victory! You just fly! Just soar! Just keep aiming high! Dreams are a reality if you truly believe them and I know you do! Your dream is your labour of love the world will see soon! Love you my child! And oh ya! Happy birthday!!!!!”

Brahmastra starrer Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy in key roles. The film was one of the blockbuster films of 2022.
