Sonam Kapoor’s acting prowess might be a tad questionable but we can’t dare underplay her strong high-street fashion sensibilities. The diva is seen in unapologetic cuts, bold colours and complicated layers of clothing that at times, get more than difficult to dissect. So, when we saw the colour block number that Parineeti Chopra recently sported, it instantly reminded us of the statuesque Ms. Kapoor. Parineeti launched her new Grazia cover at an event in Mumbai and stepped out in this Kanika Goyal skater outfit that was pretty and unusual in more ways than one. The ensemble included a sleeveless colour block vest in grey and black and mesh inserts at the skirt’s hem. The vest had an interesting cut-out neckline that added a touch of sophistication instantly. The look was teamed up with a bright yellow long sleeve turtleneck top, which worked as a perfect contrasting element for the otherwise-subtle outfit.
Stylist Sanjana Batra decided to go a bit matchy-matchy with the footwear and opted for blue pumps to match the tie on the vest. Well, Parineeti could have opted for nude pumps but she clearly seemed to be in the Sonam Kapoor mood who always goes all out and never takes half measures. Pari kept the makeup minimal and hair tied back in a puffy ponytail.
We hate comparisons. And we equally detest saying that Parineeti is trying to look like someone else. But her body language, the strong personality of the bright hues and of course, the puzzling layers and cuts made the comparison inevitable. But we love her look, nevertheless. Don’t you?
