Is Shah Rukh Khan playing a politician in Raees?

Bollywood’s superstar Shah Rukh Khan is having a busy year. The Khan is moving from one set to another, with some other projects too thrown in with ease. Shah Rukh Khan has three ambitious projects on floor this year. Rahul Dholakia’s ‘Raees’, Rohit Shetty’s ‘Dilwale’ and Maneesh Sharma’s ‘Fan’.

Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’ has been in news since the pictures of it’s larger than life sets of 1980’s Gujarat was recreated. Shahrukh Khan is apparently playing the role of a Bootlegger turned Politician in the film. A few months earlier Shah Rukh Khan’s sketch with a light beard and spectacles was leaked as his ‘Raees’ look. Now a picture is circulating that has the Khan in the same garb with a message, “Raees ko vote do, Gareebo ko chance do”. Also spotted is a kite symbol, which can be the election symbol for the actor in the film.

Film Raees directed by Rahul Dholakia will mark the debut of Pakistani actress Mahira Khan opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the movie. The film also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Raees is produced by Excel and Red Chillies Entertainment will hit the theaters in 2016.
