Just few days back, the makers of Aamir Khan‘s upcoming film ‘Thugs Of Hindostan‘ officially announced that ‘Dangal’ fame actress Fatima Sana Shaikh has been roped in to play the female lead. This movie is much-anticipated for various reasons, but Aamir had revealed a bit of information on this film saying it was a period film with a story that revolves around a gang that created havoc for the British empire before Indian independence. It is a period film that is being made on a huge budget. But now, rumours are being heard that the release date of the same has been postponed.
According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, their reliable sources in the production house have informed them that the film is about a war which has never ever been witnessed in the history of Indian cinema. Sources have said, “‘Thugs of Hindostan’ will feature numerous battles which will be fought in the sea on the lines of the Hollywood flick ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’.” [sic] (Also Check: Watch: Aamir Khan attends an award show after 16 long years, accepts an award for ‘Dangal’)
“Since ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ was set in the pre-Independence era, there will indeed be plenty of sword fighting. With the recently released blockbuster ‘Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion’ raising the bar for Indian cinema, every filmmaker now wants to mount their films on a gigantic canvas. In other words, filmmakers in Bollywood will be competing with the standards set by ‘Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion’,” added the source.
The film is directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and produced by Aditya Chopra under his banner Yash Raj Films. They, along with Aamir have now decided to postpone the movie, for they want to give it an unexpected and large scale grandeur. Reportedly, an international team has been locked in to design the fight sequences in the movie.
The film is ready to kickstart shooting on June 1, 2017.
‘Thugs Of Hindostan’ will be the first film to see Aamir Khan and megastar Amitabh Bachchan on big screen together. Earlier, it was scheduled to release during the festive time of Diwali in year 2018.
Let’s wait for an official update on it.
