Is YRF’s Mardaani Inspired by Tejaswani?

Film Industry has always been inspired by cops,but this craze increased with Salman Khan’s super Duper Hit portrayal of Chulbul Pandey in Dabangg. Everyone in Bollywood wanted to don the cop’s uniform.Producer Aditya Chopra decided to cast Rani Mukherji as a daring female cop in his film Mardani to be directed by Pradeep Sarkar.

As per information,“Mardani is inspired by a 1994 film called Tejasvini which was directed by N Chandra and starred Vijay Shanti, Deepak Malhotra and Amrish Puri. The film also had a song called Mardani in it.”

Yash Raj Films however maintains, “There is no truth to this.”
