Ishaan Khatter is stepping into 2025 with renewed focus and enthusiasm, eager to make his mark on the big screen once again. Reflecting on his journey, the actor said his initial two projects, the subsequent years were shaped by the pandemic. As a result, only one of the films made it to theatres.

Speaking to the HT City, Ishaan Khatter said, “Theatrical cinema is where my heart lies, and I’m excited to dive back in this year. I’m determined to find a captivating commercial film that resonates with me.” Excitingly, Ishaan has already completed filming for a theatrical release set for 2024. “This year, I wrapped up a project that I hold dear. It’s a unique film that tells a beautiful human story, and I can’t wait for audiences to experience it. Professionally, 2024 has been fulfilling, and I feel invigorated. It feels like the dawn of a new chapter, and I’m optimistic that 2025 will be even more dynamic.”

In addition to his cinematic endeavours, Ishaan will star alongside Bhumi Pednekar in the web series The Royals. He describes the show as a delicious new world. He highlights its fresh and contemporary perspective on royal narratives that haven’t been explored in mainstream media.

Ishaan Khatter on his Hollywood experience

Having made a splash in Hollywood with The Perfect Couple in 2024, Ishaan Khatter is proud to pave new paths for South Asian actors in the West. “When I took on this role, I was aware that it was something entirely new for a South Asian actor, especially one based here. You rarely see a young Indian male portrayed in such a light within a major Hollywood film. It was indeed uncharted territory, and although I was uncertain about the reception, the positive feedback has been heartwarming. It’s a moment of pride for all of us, and I hope to see more of this in the future. It’s about time.”

When asked about his experience working in Hollywood, Ishaan Khatter describes it as comfortable. “The creative process transcends borders. We are all artists and filmmakers, and it feels like a vibrant community of like-minded individuals,” he shares. He also notes the pride he witnessed in audiences, particularly those from the subcontinent, saying, “Seeing their pride filled my heart more than anything.”

As for his New Year’s resolution, Ishaan is determined to embrace fearlessness in his creative expression. “Going into this New Year, my goal is to be bold and authentic in my creativity. I’m ready to let destiny lead me. Let’s seize the moment—there’s no holding back.”
