Jacqueliene Fernandez recently reflected on her 15-year journey in the entertainment industry, acknowledging the successes and challenges she has faced. Originally from Sri Lanka, the 39-year-old actress admits that her experience in India has given her a sense of acceptance that she once thought unattainable.

When asked about her resilience during tough times in career journey, Jacqueliene Fernandez shared, “Resilience and self-belief have been my greatest lessons. Tough days are inevitable, but I always remind myself of the reasons that sparked my journey. Having a solid support system and concentrating on what brings me joy helps me stay grounded.”

She explains, “Being South Asian, I can relate to many cultural similarities, from savouring curry and rice in warm climates to emphasising family values. Initially, adapting to a new language and its nuances posed a challenge, but the kindness of the Indian audience made me feel right at home. Today’s Indians celebrate their roots while remaining open to global influences.”

Jacqueliene on music debut Stormrider

This year, after showcasing her skills in acting and dancing, Jacqueliene ventured into music with her debut single, Stormrider. The positive reception has ignited a passion in her to further pursue her musical ambitions. “The feedback has been incredibly encouraging. Hearing how much fans resonate with the song, especially its themes of resilience and empowerment is deeply fulfilling. Knowing that my music has impacted people’s lives makes it all worthwhile,” she expresses. “Every moment of this creative process was about channelling my growth as an artist into something significant. This isn’t just a song; it’s a reflection of my journey,” adds Jacqueliene Fernandez.

Interestingly, Jacqueliene’s musical affinity seems to run in the family. She shares, “Music has always been an integral part of my life. My father was a part-time DJ, so our home was always filled with records spanning from the ’50s to the ’70s and beyond. This exposure to various musical styles helped nurture my love for music.” When asked about her future musical aspirations, she reveals, “Currently, I’m exploring solo music, as it’s such a powerful storytelling medium. Looking ahead, I have more songs in the pipeline and possibly an album, each one showcasing a different aspect of me as an artist.”

Jacqueliene on working in Housefull 5

At present, Jacqueline is also working on Housefull 5. While she remains somewhat tight-lipped about the project, she shares, “It’s such a fun film! I’ve always enjoyed collaborating with Akshay Kumar and my other co-stars, and the camaraderie on set makes the experience truly special.”
