Janhvi Kapoor opens up on dealing with criticism; reveals how a troll once said, “Good that your mother is not around”

Being a star kid has its own pros and cons. The cons have taken the bigger share after Sushant Singh Rajput’s death as the nepotism debate has been reignited. Star kids are being trolled left, right and centre for being privileged.

Late actress Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor has also been a target of trolls for the longest time. Janhvi was once even told by trolls that its good that her mother is not around. The young actress has opened up about facing such toxicity.

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Janhvi opened up about being trolled. “I don’t allow myself to get bitter about it. When my first film came I even got comments like…good that your mother is not around to see this…I can’t allow myself to get bitter or hurt. I’d rather see the criticism as an opportunity to better myself. I would rather live in a bubble where everything is okay and then try to improve myself,” the ‘Dhadak’ actress said.

Janhvi also opened up about being compared to her mother when she started out.“I don’t know why, it didn’t occur to me. Maybe I was too naïve. Maybe I should have thought about it. But I do know I can never be like her. You know better than anyone else that no one can do what she could. I’d just be happy to select the right roles and do them my way. I’d never dream of trying to do it her way,” said Janhvi.

Meanwhile, Janhvi was last seen in ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’ and the actress has been receiving a lot of praise for her performance in it.
