‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’ Trailer: This biographical drama starring Janhvi Kapoor looks promising

After a long wait, the trailer of Janhvi Kapoor starrer ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’ is finally out. The biographical drama is based on the life of  Gunjan Saxena, who was the first Indian female airforce pilot in combat. Directed by Sharan Sharma, the film is produced by Dharma Productions and Zee Studios.

Sridevi‘s daughter Janhvi Kapoor who made her acting debut in 2018 with ‘Dhadak’ will be seen essaying the titular role in ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’. In the trailer, we see how Janhvi being a woman is not seen as an equal by her colleagues. First, she had to convince her family to let her fulfil the dream of becoming a pilot and later she has to prove herself to her colleagues that she is capable enough to fight for her country.

‘Gunjan Saxena’ also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Angad Bedi, Viineet Kumar, Manav Vij and Ayesha Raza in a pivotal role. The film is based on the life of Flight Lieutenant Gunjan Saxena, who along with Flight Lieutenant Srividya Rajan, became the first Indian women in combat during the Kargil war. Together they both created history and the film will chronicle their inspirational journey.

The biopic is produced under the banner of Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. And it is all set to premiere on Netflix on August 12, 2020.
