Watch: Janhvi Kapoor refuses to answer on Priya Varrier’s ‘Sridevi Bungalow’

Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor had a mixed 2018. On one hand, she made her debut in Shashank Khaitan’s ‘Dhadak’. The film was critically acclaimed and also did sound business at the box office. But, Janhvi also suffered a personal loss as she lost her mother Sridevi under tragic circumstances.

Priya Prakash Varrier, remember this girl? The Malayalam actress in 2018 became a household name for her winking in the film ‘Oru Adaar Love’. The actress’ video of winking went viral and Priya became a wink girl. Now, Priya is in the news for making her Bollywood debut with the film ‘Sridevi Bungalow’. The teaser of the film created controversy and Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor also sent a legal notice to the makers.

Now, Janhvi Kapoor was present at the Lion Gold Awards 2019. The young actress won the award for the best debut actress for ‘Dhadak’. When media persons asked Janhvi about the film, the daughter of Sridevi kept mum and refused to answer.

Earlier, Priya Prakash Varrier offered clarification regarding ‘Sridevi Bungalow’. The actress in an interview to The Times of India said, “Sridevi is just the name of my character in the movie. Who would want to create such controversies? I think the curiosity surrounding the trailer is good and we have to leave it to the audience to judge if the film is based on the veteran actress Sridevi ma’am.”

Sridevi’s untimely and mysterious death was one of the shocking events of 2018. It has left a void in the industry and the past 9-10 months have been very difficult for the entire Kapoor family.
