Late actress Sridevi and Boney Kapoor‘s daughter Janhvi Kapoor is all set to mark her Bollywood debut with Karan Johar’s film ‘Dhadak’. Janhvi was busy with the shoot of her debut film when she had lost her mother, legendary actress Sridevi in an unfortunate accident in Dubai. The 21-year-old handled the situation bravely and resumed shooting within a few days of her mother’s demise.
Janhvi is currently busy promoting her upcoming release on all major platforms and during an interview, she revealed that while looking at a montage from the film, for a split second, she thought it was her late mother Sridevi and not her, onscreen.
In an interview with IANS, Janhvi shared the incident from the sets of ‘Dhadak’ and said, “I am my mumma’s daughter, so I look like her, but I know I am different. There was that one montage shot where I am drinking milk in a scene. For a fraction of second, I thought that was mumma… I was like ‘Oh God, wasn’t it her? Actually, in that shot, I saw my side profile.”
What led her to feel that? Janhvi explained, “I have one such image of Mumma where she used to have juice early morning. So the moment I woke up and looked out for her around me, I would see her drinking juice from a side. So yes, that was one moment.”
We cannot even imagine how this brave girl is coping over her mother’s demise and yet being strong enough to promote her film.
‘Dhadak’ is a remake of the Marathi blockbuster ‘Sairaat ‘and also stars Shahid Kapoor’s talented brother Ishaan Khatter as the male lead. The movie is directed by ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhaniyaa’ fame Shashank Khaitan and is produced under the banner of Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
‘Dhadak’ is all set to hit the silver screens on July 20, 2018.
